Last month, we took a deep dive into beliefs. This month, we’re focusing on values and how they shape our actions in the world.
This Month’s Topic: Values
Values and beliefs are deeply intertwined; both motivate us to act. Whenever we move forward, speak, or make decisions, we do so because we believe that action holds value. Our beliefs about ourselves and the world inform us of what is valuable and guide us toward the values we can realistically attain.
Naturally, we have a hierarchy of values—some values rank higher than others—and this entire system needs to work in the real world. Since life evolves and changes on this planet, so does what is valuable.
Lastly, many of our cultural conflicts arise from shifting value systems—and the tension that comes with moving from one set of values to another in an ever-changing world.
Here is what we will explore this month:
Deep Dive: Our Current Value Systems & World Views
Deep Dive: How to Navigate a Changing World: The Map of Hope
Exciting News: This month’s deep dive will also be available in an audio format, similar to a podcast! Let me know what you think once you’ve listened.
